Sylvia Kairouz is a Full Professor and Canada Research Chair on Gambling at Concordia University, where she directs the Lifestyle, Addiction and Mental Health Laboratory (HERMES Lab). Her research focuses on gambling behaviours, addiction, and public health, with particular expertise in online gambling patterns across Canadian populations. She has led numerous large-scale studies on gambling prevalence and harm, and her work informs policy and responsible gambling frameworks at the provincial and federal levels.
